Brisbane’s mild winters, endless sunshine and relaxed lifestyle make for comfortable living, but our climate and geography also support a rich mosaic of habitats that, in turn, support a diverse fauna. This pocket-sized field guide explores the diversity of Brisbane’s reptiles: snakes, turtles and lizards — a group that includes geckos, skinks, dragons and monitors. It is primarily intended as a guide to assist with identifying more commonly encountered reptiles in the Brisbane metropolitan area. However, two foreign invasive species and some of the rarer species that occur around the city edges have also been included.
