Native Plants of Hassans Walls Reserve features descriptions and photographs of 390 native plants growing on the Reserve and lists a further 97 native plants. In addition a sample of 40 fungi and lichen are featured. The book lists both the scientific name and common names where known. It is written in plain English to enable as many people as possible to identify the plants. It does not aim to be a scientific or technical book. The book is divided into sections on: Wildflowers; Orchids; Grasses, Rushes & Sedges; Eucalypts; Ferns; Liverworts & Mosses; Fungi & Lichen.

Hassans Walls Reserve is adjacent to the town of Lithgow in NSW Australia. It is on the western boundary of the Blue Mountains World Heritage area. The Reserve is some 770 hectares with altitude ranging from 960m to 1160m. With at least four threatened species of native plants and over 70 native orchids growing on the Reserve, its a special place.
