The Western Australian Herbarium began in 1929 in shared quarters in the old Perth Observatory, later moving to a wint of the Department of Acriculture and then to a purpose built facility in 1970 and finally to te Conservation Science Centre. The Centre and the Herbarium play a critical role in understanding and conserving Western Australia’s extraordinary flora now and into the future.
